I made this deal with all the rest of the medics in the AEOT today to do ten push ups every time we hear an explosion. Now, we're not talking about the far off explosions that are infrequent in the distance. We're talking about tent-rattling, ground shaking explosions. So far (we started the deal at about 8:30, and it's now 3pm), we've done about 200 push-ups, and many people's arms are giving out, and they're doing sets of 2 to get them done. Puh-the-tick.
While I'm grateful to not be a Marine, or outside of the wire on a daily basis lugging around 180 pound packs and shooting bad guys, being in the Air Force makes me realize that I've actually got more of a desk job than I ever expected when I joined the Military.
At least I've got a really nice desk chair.
